Founded on the 28th of July, 2008, the Jadavpur Association of International Relations (JAIR) has served as an academic platform for students, scholars and practitioners of International Relations and Political Science, besides various interdisciplinary endeavours. One of the fundamental missions of JAIR was to analyze India’s Foreign Policy in the contemporary years and to develop goodwill amongst the nations of the region of South and Southeast Asia by securing India’s position in the region.  Since 2007 JAIR has emerged as an important organization in the region which has analyzed and propagated India’s Foreign Policy both at the International and National Level. JAIR has dealt closely with the important features of India’s Foreign Policy like Look East Policy, Act East Policy, BIMSTEC etc.  With the gamut of experts of International Relations within its Executive Body JAIR has closely worked with the Public Diplomacy Division, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, Policy Planning and Research Division, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies (MAKAIAS), Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) since its inception. With the patronage of the Public Diplomacy Division, MEA, Policy Planning and Research Division, MEA, GOI, MAKAIAS, ICSSR, ICCR, Ministry of Culture, JAIR have successfully organized International level, national level as well as inter-university level seminars and has brought out a couple of major publications apart from occasional papers.  Today, we have local chapters in a number of Indian States. JAIR had also organized the First ever Convention on International Relations in the year 2011 on India’s Constructive Engagement in Asia and Africa. Moreover, JAIR has organized a series of programmers with Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi and Eastern and North-eastern Regional Council, Ministry of Culture, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies (MAKAIAS), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and many others. JAIR has already organized several Conferences at the North Eastern States of India, which includes Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Assam. JAIR is playing a very important role to promote India’s Foreign Policy both at the Regional level and at the International level. JAIR’s strong team of International Relations scholars and practitioners are constantly working to popularize International Relations as a subject. We have especially targeted India’s Foreign Policy and involved the practitioners to give shape to the understanding of it. The association has created more understanding of Indian Foreign Policy and Culture within our own country and beyond.

JAIR will host its 11th National Conference ACT EAST THROUGH NORTH EAST: INDIA’S WAY TO A NEW ERA OF DIPLOMACY on 15TH AND 16TH NOVEMBER, 2018 in collaboration with Dera Natung Government College at Dera Natung Government College, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh supported by Policy Planning and Research Division, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA), New Delhi, Indian Council of Social Science Research New Delhi

The Inaugural Ceremony of the Conference will be held on 15th November, 2018 at Dera Natung Government College, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh at 10.00a.m.

The valedictory session of the Conference will be held on 16th November, 2018 at at Dera Natung Government College, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh at 3.00p.m.

Nearly 150 scholars from all over India will take part in the deliberation of the Conference.
